Project Organization: Week 3

Project Organization Week 3: Under the Bathroom Sink

Hey guys! Thanks for joining me again during Project Organization, where I continue to try and organize all the little areas of our home that are a little out of control.

This week is all about how I tackled the area under our bathroom sink! Things were a bit crazy, as you can see, and I needed to find a way to make it very functional for every day. I’ve found that if you can organize and really optimize the spaces that you need to use for your every day routines, you honestly lessen your daily stress level a lot! I knew that I wanted to keep all my bathroom cleaning supplies in here, as well as a really functional place for the hubs to keep all his personal items he uses on a daily basis. He also has a drawer as well.

Check out the before: Continue reading “Project Organization: Week 3”

Project Organization: Week 2

Project Organization Week 2: Junk Drawer

Hi there! Thanks for joining me on my journey to pretty much organize my whole life! Up this week, my Kitchen Junk Drawer. Aren’t junk drawers a funny thing? Pretty much everyone has one, a place where all the various odds and ends you seem to need in life, end up. I will admit, the concept of junk drawers bother me a little bit, because I am one of those people who feels slightly stressed that anywhere is disorganized, even behind a closed door or drawer.

I’ve realized I kind of need to get over that though, as things just seem to accumulate too fast to have every single area perfect at all times! So, I knew the main key for taming this drawer was mainly just to have a spot for everything as much as possible, so it will be somewhat “contained clutter”. The Honest Co. Cleaning Supplies Haul

The honest company essentials bundle: some of my favorite cleaning products

If you have read my Honest Company Review before, you will already know that I am a big fan of The Honest Company! I have tried quite a few products of theirs over the last year or so, and have liked almost everything so far.

Today I wanted to pop on here and share my latest Honest Haul! This time I just needed a bunch of cleaning supplies, which I would say is the main thing I usually order from them. I really like all their cleaners, and this time I tried several new things which I am liking so far!  Continue reading “The Honest Co. Cleaning Supplies Haul”

Project Organization: Week 1

Project Organization: week one

Organization has been the name of the game for me these past few months! The hubs and I moved into this apartment just about a year ago and I feel like I am just now slowly by slowly getting every little area just how I like it. It is SLOW going, but so satisfying when each little project is done. Each organized space seems to free up an immense amount of mental sanity for me! I am slightly obsessed with organizing and decluttering. It’s kind of my favorite! Hence Project Organization. Each week I will be revealing a new space in our place that I have finally organized, with before and after shots. I hope you will join me!!

So..this week, it’s all about our little hallway nook area. Here is the very embarrassing before:

A Simple Autumn Vignette

Simple autumn vignette

Hi there!

Today I wanted to share this simple little Autumn Vignette I styled on the dresser in our dining room area. I use it kind of like a mantle at the moment, since we don’t have a fireplace in our apartment and it serves as the perfect place to style for the different seasons. Sometimes I use it as a coffee bar, but for now it is decorated for fall! Continue reading “A Simple Autumn Vignette”

32 Lessons I’ve learned in 32 years

32 Lessons I've learned in 32 years

Shifting gears today from pretty things in life, to a more introspective topic: lessons I have learned over the years. I figured I would share life thoughts every now and then so you get to know the person behind the blog a little better!

You might be wondering if it is my birthday because of the title of this post: but nope, it was actually back in January! I started working on this list waaaayyyy back then but never got to finish it until just recently. Better late than never though, right?!

These are just the highlights of some of the most poignant and life-changing things that I have learned over my lifetime so far, especially in the last 5 years or so! I have been very fortunate to have many wise and godly people in my life to glean things from, and have come across a lot of really helpful resources from sermons, podcasts, books and blogs too. Hopefully you can find some nuggets that inspire you as well! Enjoy. 🙂 Continue reading “32 Lessons I’ve learned in 32 years”

Empties: Holy Grail Product!

Empties: Holy Grail Product

So for my last post in the empties series for a while, I only have 1 item, but it’s a biggie! I don’t use the term ‘Holy Grail’ very often for the simple reason that I very rarely find them! So when I come across something that I really love it is that much more special since I feel like I try so many different things before I find something that is truly a game-changer for me.

I am completely in love with the 100 Percent Pure Vanilla Bean Whipped Body Butter! Their body butter was something I had read good reviews on and had wanted to try for a while but the price point for a relatively small size made it a splurge buy for sure. That is the biggest con I was reading in the reviews, that everyone wished you got more for the price. But I am so glad that I tried it because I am head over heels for this stuff! So let me tell you exactly what I LOVE so much about it! Continue reading “Empties: Holy Grail Product!”

Empties: Face & Body Products

Empties: face and body productsMore empties, this time all my face & body products!

Acure Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes (x4!): So I am sure some people would be horrified to hear this, but these have been my main face washing product for a while now. On the nights I take my makeup off with only these, I use 2 of them. That’s why I have gone through so many packets! It’s not perfect, but right now it does a pretty good job while I wait for the new cleanser I bought to get here. These are GREAT for those nights where you are trying to be good and wash your makeup off, but are way too tired to do a whole skin regimen. My skin honestly looks better the morning after I use these than it tends to when I use facewash, which is very interesting to me. I have been wondering if it is the lack of water, because maybe my water isn’t that great? Anyways, I plan to get a shower filter very soon which will hopefully help with skin issues too. I do alternate between using these and washing my face with the One Love Organics Vitamin B Cleansing Oil since that is what really helps my pore congestion. I will say more about that cleanser when it is empty! 🙂 Continue reading “Empties: Face & Body Products”

Empties: Household Cleaners

Empties: household cleanersMore empties, now onto household cleaners! I go through countertop cleaners like crazy because I am pretty obsessed with wiping everything down all the time! I think this many bottles only lasted me like a month and a half or something, I feel like I buy a new one every other week or so. I am pretty sure that isn’t normal, but it’s ok with me since I love having clean kitchen and bathroom countertops all the time. And I have 2 little crazy boy cats who tend to get tons of dirt and hair everywhere! Continue reading “Empties: Household Cleaners”

Empties: Makeup

Empties: makeup

It’s empties time again!! I feel like I somehow have a never-ending supply of empty tubes and bottles of things recently! I am still sort of playing catch-up actually, since I organized TONS of stuff in my recent linen/bathroom closet project and I found some things still lurking around that I hadn’t gotten to throw away yet! In the future, I most likely won’t have quite as many empties on a regular basis. I will probably do monthly or bi-monthly posts then. I don’t know about you, but empties posts/videos are one of my top faves, since I feel like you really know if you like a product or not by the time you have used it all up!
